Follow The Beach Signs

This crab can’t read! But our hand carved sign will recall all your lazy days at the beach. Then follow the margarita sign to the bar. Of course!

We love this wooden Beach Sign … a perfect accent piece for a table, bookshelf or wall shelf. The sign itself is made of weathered wood and features hand carved sea shells and a sand dollar along with wispy metal cattails.

Also, note this designer original metal wall art sign, featuring a beach bag filled with beach towel, sea shell, star fish plus flip flops. Attached is a wooden board that says “Welcome”.

The Art of Copper

Graceful and abstract heron.

It represents Venus, the planet and the goddess. It is the universal symbol for female. It is associated with Friday, the goddess Aphrodite and the country of Cyprus. It is copper.

Copper has remarkable properties and sensuous beauty, and so has been valued and worked by mankind for nearly 10,000 years. It has played many roles  – in tools, weaponry, items of worship, jewelry and the decorative arts. Since peoples’ first efforts to create objects that represent beauty, power, and a connection to the earth, copper has been a favorite material.

Copper’s relatives in the periodic table are silver and gold. Like them, it is highly malleable (able to be worked into different forms), highly ductile (conductive of heat and electricity) and is renowned for its beauty, with its lustrous reddish gold hue and tendency to patinate to a number of colors, and turn colors when heated.

Explore  nautical metal wall art made from copper and finished in washed colored patinas. Each item is hand glazed and sealed, giving each a ” wet ” look. Elegant upscale finishes make these sculptures and nautical lamps very popular for coastal home decor.

Key West Art & Music

Jimmy Buffett arrived in Key West in November 1971 with singer and songwriter Jerry Jeff Walker (already famous for “Mr. Bojangles”) and Teresa “Murphy” Clark. Jerry Jeff, Murphy and her young son, Justin, had offered Jimmy refuge in their open-air Coconut Grove home after Jimmy fled Nashville’s weather and business climate. To dispel Jimmy’s gloom, the group took a drive southward to the Florida Keys.  Key West, an outpost over 100 miles from our mainland, is a place of fascinating history and charm. Jimmy’s discovery of the island meant everything to the man. It changed his life.

There is something ever appealing about the search to truly enjoy one’s life, to take the perfect moments we have, whatever they may be, and spend more time with them.  And of course having a little Jimmy for a soundtrack never hurts either.

Here are some of our favorite Jimmy Buffett albums:

The Trophy Dancing On The Sea

Sailfish Gamefish Sculpture

Brass Sailfish On Marble Base

“The fish breaks water and takes flight jumping into the sky, bouncing sunlight off its fin as only a sailfish can. He nearly rips you from the chair as he breaks and runs at speeds only approached by your racing heart. Though it seems like hours, it’s only been minutes since you hooked the hurricane at the end of your line. But, at this moment, you’re the one who’s hooked because the world’s only concern is that trophy dancing on the top of the sea.”
The Florida Keys and Key West
